BRIEFLY: Pender avenged a regularseason ending loss to Guardian Angels Central Catholic (64-50) with a first-round playoff victory (52-50) over the third-ranked team. Pender quarterback Brady Oliver has thrown for 1,130 yards and rushed for 595 more. Johnson-Brock also pulled a road upset in the opening round by knocking off Heartland 24-6.

Class D2 Second Round

Wynot (7-2) at Friend (8-1)

BRIEFLY: Ninth-ranked Wynot travels three hours to face Friend. The Blue Devils won their sixth straight game with a 50-20 opening round win over Wausa. A punishing ground attack by the tandem of Lucas Thingstad (198) and Justin Lange (141) was the difference. Thingstad has rushed for 1,374 yards this season and 20 touchdowns while Lange adds 696 and 12 TDs. Edwin Baptista leads Friend with 959 yards rushing and 16 TDs. The Bulldogs have allowed only 20 points during their current six-game win streak.
