KANSAS CITY, Mo. | Zach Curry scored two power-play goals Saturday afternoon while leading the Kansas City Jets to a 3-2 Midwest High School Hockey League victory over the Sioux City Metros.

Curry heads into this morning’s MHSHL game at the Kansas City Ice Center against the Metros with 27 goals and 19 assists. He has scored in every game this season for the Jets, who lead the West Division with a 20-0-0-1 record.

Sioux City (9-9-1-1) took a 1-0 second-period lead on Trent Harsma’s power-play goal at the 8:58 mark. Curry tied the game five minutes later and tallied his second goal at the 5:20 mark of the third period for a 3-1 lead.

Skyler Beller’s 22nd goal of the season, a man-advantage goal, completed the scoring. Beller, who has scored in all but one game this season, has a team-high six power-play goals.

Tanner Frerichs dished two assists. Goaltender Ben Morehead had 41 saves.

The two teams dueled to a 1-1 tie in the junior varsity contest. Connor Sand scored the lone goal for the Metros (7-7-6) while goaltender Blake Beller had 29 saves.

Kansas City will host the Metros this morning, with the JV game starting at 9:20 and the varsity following at 10:50.
