SIOUX CITY | Dawson Engle and Nick Spolec scored two goals apiece Saturday afternoon as the West Division-leading Kansas City Jets clipped the Sioux City Metros 6-1 in Midwest High School Hockey League action at the IBP Ice Center.

The Jets would get the sweep on Sunday downing the Metros 7-2.

Saturday, James Page gave Sioux City (12-12-1-1) a 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal at the 7:37 mark of the first period. Spolec tied the game seven minutes later and Kansas City (23-1-0-1) took a 2-1 lead on Alex Hoehn’s goal, eight minutes into the second period.

Goaltender Blake Beller had 27 saves for the Metros.

Sunday, Kansas City jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one period and outshot the Metros 38-19 in the game.

Skyler Beller had a goal in the second period and Connor Sand found the back of the net in the third period for the Metros. Spolec and and Zach Curry both had two goals apiece for the Jets.

The Metros junior varsity team slipped to 7-13-6 on the season following  4-0 and 3-0 losses over the weekend.
