DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The Sioux City Metros made it four straight two-game sweeps to open the Midwest High School Hockey Legaue season Sunday at the Rivers Edge Ice Arena.

The Metros registered a 7-1 victory over Quad City on the heels of Saturday's 5-1 win that left them with an 8-0 record after four weekends of play.

James Page, the Metro's early-season goal leader with nine, had two goals in each weekend contest. Drake Beller and Logan Visser scored in each game while Tanner Frerichs had two on Sunday. Taylor Frerichs also scored in Sunday's game while Sam Chadwick tallied in Saturday's contest.

Carter Manthorne stopped 14 of 15 shots in net to earn Sunday's win after Blake Beller made 15 saves in goal on Saturday.

Tanner Frerichs, who had three assists in each game, has a season-best 23 points through eight games for a Metros team that has scored 43 goals.

The junior varsity team (5-2-1) split a pair of games with Quad City, falling on Sunday 4-2 after winning Saturday 3-0.

T.J. Lake, Alec Nieman and Nick Novak tallied Saturday goals while Will Stokes turned asied 25 shots for the shutout.

Nick Novak scored both goals in Sunday's contest while Stokes made 13 saves.

Sioux City will take Thanksgiving weekend off before traveling to face fourth-place Des Moines Oakleafs the first weekend in December.
