SIOUX CITY | The Sioux City Metros snapped a two-game losing streak over the weekend by ending it with a 6-3  Midwest High School Hockey League win over Lincoln at the IBP Ice Center on Sunday.

The Metros left little doubt thanks to a four-goal first period to jump out to the 4-0 lead. Jarett Heyl got the first goal off an assist from James Page just 48 seconds into the game. One minute, three seconds later it was Tanner Frerichs who lit the lamp off a pass from Drake Beller. Frerichs would add his second goal to make it 3-0 off an assist from Page, and Page found Beller for the final goal of the first period.

Zane Schmidt would score the first of his two goals for Lincoln late in the second period off a power play and made it 4-2 when he scored 53 seconds into the third period.

The Metros would get one of those goals back as Logan Visser found the back of the net off of Beller's second assist of the game on the power play.

Lincoln would get one more goal from Eli Schmal, but Sioux City scored its second power-play goal off the stick of Page to go with his three assists.

The Metros (15-6-2) dominated the action in the game outshooting Lincoln 59-18.

The Metros also won the junior varsity game over Lincoln 6-5 in a shootout. Taylor Frerichs had the winning goal in the shootout.
