Lauren Van Dyke, Sioux City East: The senior is taking aim at high finishes in both the 400, where she qualified fifth in 59.13, and 800, where she ran 2:18.09 at the qualifying meet to sit fourth. Van Dyke took third at state in the 800 a year ago.
Madison Harms, SB-L: The junior has cleared 5-foot-7 in the high jump this year and had the best qualifying effort at 5-5. Harms finished third at state a year ago. She is after the school record of 5-8 which was set by Megan Glisar.
Lily Peterson, Alta/Aurelia: The senior is qualified in multiple events but the 400 could be a showdown between Siouxland runners. Peterson, the 400 champ in 2A last year and MVAOCOU's Jordyn Pester, the 400 winner in 1A, had the two best times at the state qualifying meets.
Shaylee Siebens, Akron-Westfield: The junior has run the third fastest 100 in the class this season at 12.53. She is also qualified in the 200. It has been a year of big improvement after not reaching the finals in the 100 at state a year ago.
