OMAHA | Pender senior Jacob Sebade kept his quest for a fourth straight Nebraska Class D state wrestling title after winning in the semifinals Friday afternoon at the CenturyLink Center here.
Sebade won a 4-2 decision over Cale Bolton of High Plains Community to improve to 44-0 this season. Logan Dibern of Amherst will be Sebade's opponent in the final. The two met at the Bob Orsorn Classic on Jan. 18 and Sebade won by fall.
Two other Pendragons will be looking for their third state crowns as both Benny Oliver (145 pounds) and Mark Dunn (126) won semifinal matches Friday. Both will have to defeat unbeaten wrestlers to repeat.
Oliver took a 10-3 decision from Colton Lammers of Pleasanton and will take on Zemua Baptista of Friend in the finals. Baptista won a pair of close decisions over Oliver in matches on successive weekends in January and is 47-0.
Dunn won by fall over Chris Werth of Eustie-Farnam in the semifinals and will take on unbeaten Tyler Bailey (44-0) of Sutton.
Pender remained in third place in the team standings with Amherst well ahead in its quest for its fifth straight title
In Class A, South Sioux City had four wrestlers compete in the consolation round in Class A and Ricardo DeAnda won two matches before falling in the third round.
DeAnda won by decision over Alex Gibson of Omaha Burke 6-4 and by fall over T.J. Monzon of Millard West. DeAnda's run ended in the third consolation round with a 10-0 major decision loss to Jonathan Killingsworth of Lincoln Southeast.
