VERMILLION, S.D. | Vermillion’s wrestling team posted two dual meet victories at the triangular it hosted Thursday night, 50-18 over Crofton-Bloomfield and 54-25 over Wagner.
Trey Hage (145) and Brody Surrell (220) each recorded two pins for the Tanagers. Hage pinned Crofton-Bloomfield’s Jarrin Sage in 2:37, then pinned Wagner’s Tony Bruguier in 1:36.
Surrell posted pins over Crofton-Bloomfield’s Jared Hornback (1:29) and Wagner’s Jace Johnson (5:12).
Vermillion, during the meet against Crofton-Bloomfield, also received a pin from Kobe Culver (195). Teammate Jack Kratz (138) won by technical fall.
Crofton-Bloomfield got pins from Jaden Janssen (152) and Quinton Moles (170) against the Tanagers.
Vermillion’s Lucus Anglin (126) and Ryne Whisler (132) each won by fall versus Wagner.
WAGNER 39, CROFTON-BLOOMFIELD 21: Wagner snapped a 21-21 tie with three consecutive wins, two by fall, to close its dual win Thursday night at the Vermillion Triangular.
Ethan Poppe (220) of Crofton-Bloomfield recorded the meet’s fastest fall, pinning Jace Faulkner in 20 seconds. Poppe’s teammate, Reece McFarland (132), also picked up a pin.
CREIGHTON 54, LAUREL-CONCORD/COLERIDGE 12: Like Creighton, Laurel-Concord/Coleridge received two pins in Thursday night’s dual meet. Creighton claimed seven forfeit wins while otherwise dominating its home meet.
Laurel-Concord/Coleridge received falls from Ethan Williams (220) and Zachary Dietrich (285).
CREIGHTON 60, PONCA 3: Colton Krusemark’s 5-2 win over Creighton 152-pounder Thad Hazen lifted Ponca within 12-3, but the Indians dropped each of the final eight matches to close Thursday’s meet at Creighton.
