SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa | Cherokee’s wrestling team had six pins, but it wasn’t enough as Spirit Lake Park rallied for a 43-36 Lakes Conference win Thursday night.

During a dual meet where there were five lead changes, Spirit Lake Park received pins from Isaac Dixon (132), Kyler Rieck (152) and Mason Mart (195).

Mason Hill’s fall at 106 pounds gave Cherokee a 36-31 lead, but Spirit Lake Park won by forfeit at 113 and 120 to close the meet.

Cherokee also received pins from Damon Williams (126), Kade Jurgensen (138), Tyler Zeimen (170),  Treighton Schubert (182) and Wyatt Kraft (285).

CHEROKEE 39, LE MARS 36: Mason Hill’s pin in 4:59 over Le Mars 106-pounder Blake Dirksen in the final match of the dual gave Cherokee the come-from-behind victory.

Cherokee also received pins from Damon Williams (126), Kade Jurgensen (138), Dane Jurgensen (145) and Cael Wood (152).

Le Mars heavyweight Brennick Hoppe gave his team a 36-33 lead by pinning Wyatt Kraft in 49 seconds. The Bulldogs also received pins from Daniel Hinds (113) and Jake Francksen-Small (132).

SPIRIT LAKE PARK 61, LE MARS 12: Erasing an early 6-0 deficit, Spirit Lake Park posted 11 consecutive wins, seven by fall en route to rolling past Le Mars.

Brian Leathers (126) recorded the first of the Indians’ pins, followed by teammates Jayden Gilge (138), Nolan Cornwall (145), Kyler Rieck (152), Adam Skopec (170), Koltyn Bradley (182), Patrick Bauer (285) and Joe Waters (113).

Jason Hand’s fall at 106 gave Le Mars the early lead. The Bulldogs also received a pin from Blake Dirksen (106).

WOODBINE 42, RIDGE VIEW 23: Woodbine amassed three pins, including two in the last three matches.

Dylan Wood (145) recorded a pin for Ridge View along with teammates Cam Steffens (182) and Trenton Miller (220).

WEST MONONA 48, RIDGE VIEW 21: West Monona jumped out to an early 30-0 lead on the way to victory.

Falls for E.J. Hildreth (126) and Seth Watson (145) were part of West Monona’s early dominance. Ridge View trailed 42-9 before receiving consecutive falls from Trenton Miller (220) and Tate Phillips (285).

OA-BCIG 48, LAWTON-BRONSON 17: Tyler Anderson pinned Lawton-Bronson 220-pounder Michael Cunigan in 11 seconds, one of OA-BCIG’s four falls Thursday night.

Ryder Meek (285) had a fall in 16 seconds for OA-BCIG, which also received falls from Devin Behrensen (182) and Kurtis Krager (126).

Lawton-Bronson received pins in the Western Valley Conference loss from Thomas Eilers (145) and Austin Eilers (160).

WESTWOOD 72, LAWTON-BRONSON 6: Competing at 145 pounds, Hunter Hanner gave Westwood an 18-0 lead with a fall in 1:22 over Thomas Eilers for an 18-0 lead en route to Thursday night’s Western Valley Conference rout.

Jeremiah Adams (182) also won by fall for Westwood along with teammates Zach Adams (195), Dillion LaBrune (220), Nathan Payne (285) and Brennan Brown (126).

Austin Eilers (160) scored Lawton-Bronson’s lone points with a fall.

WESTWOOD 46, OA-BCIG 32: Westwood rolled to an early 31-3 lead and held on to defeat OA-BCIG Thursday night.

Braulio Munoz (160) and Jeremiah Adams (182) recorded falls for Westwood in that early stretch. Nathan Payne (285) also won by fall.

OA-BCIG received falls from Tyler Anderson (220), Jake Nieman (120) and Jarrett Hewitt (132).

ALTA/AURELIA 53, SIOUX CENTRAL 12: Sam Zimmerman (145) was one of four fall winners for Alta/Aurelia Thursday night, joining Nathan Wethlen (160), Brock Miller (182) and Schade Larsen (126).

Nathan Harden (106) had Sioux Central’s lone pin.

G-T/R-A 63, ALTA/AURELIA 12: Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire had six forfeits and four pins in Thursday’s rout over Alta/Aurelia.

G-T/R-A 72, SIOUX CENTRAL 0: Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire recorded four pins and seven forfeits on the way to blanking Sioux Central, 72-0.

Alex DeRoos (170) recorded a pin for Alta/Aurelia.

DENISON-SCHLESWIG 66, COUNCIL BLUFFS ST. ALBERT 12: Denison-Schleswig received eight forfeits and two pins while leading from start to finish Thursday night.

The Monarchs received forfeit wins from Cory Miller (152) and Wyatt Kaub (182).

RED OAK 48, DENISON-SCHLESWIG 31: Red Oak won three of the final four matches, two by pin, while rallying for a victory over Denison-Schleswig Thursday night.

Manuel Currazco (285) and Jacob Irwin (170) posted pins for Denison-Schleswig.

WOODBURY CENTRAL 54, MVAO 24: Wade Mitchell (145) and Jim Moss (182) both won by fall for Woodbury Central in a 54-24 win over Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto on Thursday in Mapleton.

Bryce Kafton (120), Jackson Krusen (138) and Dylan Lewis (285) recorded pins for MVAO.

WOODBURY CENTRAL 75, KINGSLEY-PIERSON 6: The Woodbury Central wrestling team recorded four pins as the Wildcats defeated Kingsley-Pierson 75-6 on Thursday in Mapleton.

Brackett Locke (113), Garrett Arment (152), Jake Dennison (170) and Jim Moss (182) won by fall for Woodbury Central.

Kingsley-Pierson’s lone win came by forfeit.
