SIOUX CITY | Chicago scored on Marcus Dickerson's goal midway through the third period and went on to defeat Sioux City 5-3 in a United States Hockey League game at the Tyson Events Center Friday.
The rematch of the league's Clark Cup final won by the Steel last spring, saw the Musketeers rally from a 3-1 deficit with two goals by Cole Koepke in the second period to tie the game at 3-3.
Chicago led 2-1 after one period with Randy Hernandez scoring Sioux City's goal at 15:46 of the opening frame off an assist from Micah Miller.
Robert Mastrosimone hiked the Steel lead to 3-1 early in the third period but Koepke's first of the season pulled Sioux City within a goal at 10:45 of the second then tied the score at 17:13 off assists from Hernandez and Matt Fawcett.
Chicago's Derek Daschke iced things with an empty net goal with 17 seconds left in the third period as the Steel improved to 5-1.
Sioux City (2-4) had a 44-31 shots on goal edge with keeper Ben Kraws stopping 26 shots.
