Gornet, the backup to Collin Olson, had 20 saves in a 3-0 win over Lincoln on Nov. 27, 2014 ... A Miami (Ohio) recruit and rookie from Cranbury, N.J., Kraws was making his third start of the season, improving his goals-against-average to 2.87 and his saves percentage to .903 ... fellow goaltender Matt Jurusik (4-7-3) ranks 11th in the United States Hockey League with his 2.77 GAA ... Sioux City may be last in the Western Conference standings, but the 52 goals allowed ranks sixth in the league ... Micah Miller (4 goals, 3 assists) has scored a goal in four of his last five games ... Cole Koepke (6 goals) has scored two goals on a combination of seven shot attempts in his last three games while improving his shooting percentage to 10.7 percent ... Parker Ford (1, 3) ended a two-game scoreless stretch with his third-period goal that gave the Musketeers the 1-0 lead in a win at Dubuque that avenged a 5-4 loss the previous Saturday at the same venue ... Lucas Bahn (1, 4), the Musketeers’ defenseman scoring leader, had the team’s lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Des Moines on Oct. 21 at the Tyson Events Center ... Sampo Ranta (7, 4) scored two regular-season goals against Des Moines last season ... Sioux City has more wins on the road (3) than at home (2) ... Scoring leader Julian Napravnik (7 goals, 8 assists), a native of Hamburg, Germany, provided two goals and an assist in last Friday’s 3-0 win at Buccaneer Arena over Chicago while goaltender Ryan Snowden (2-4, 2.85 GAA) stopped each of the 23 shots he faced against the Steel, tied for third in the USHL with 64 goals ... Chase Ellingson (3, 5) scored two goals for the Bucs in a 3-1 win at Sioux City on Oct. 21 ... Nicolas Werbik (7, 7) has been scoreless in three games since scoring two goals in a 4-3 loss to Fargo on Nov. 24, but is nevertheless dangerous with five power-play assists and three game-winning goals ... Mike Hardman (6, 7), the team’s leader with a 23.5 shooting percentage, has three goals and three assists on the power play ... Nico Appendino (2, 7) is tied for 10th among USHL defenseman scorers with nine points ... Goaltender Jake Kucharski (5-6, 3.48 GAA) hasn’t played since Nov. 25 when he suffered a 5-1 loss to Fargo.
Omaha is one of the USHL’s hottest teams as of late, outscoring opponents 19-7 while going on a four-game winning streak ... The Lancers’ second-leading scorer, Brendan Furry (6 goals, 8 assists), has provided four goals and five assists in a current seven-game scoring streak going into tonight’s game at Tri-City ... Scoring leader Christian O’Neill (7, 9) has four consecutive multi-point games, recording two goals and six assists in that span ... Noah Cates (5, 5) also takes a four-game scoring streak into Tri-City, collecting three goals and four assists in that span ... Cole Gallant (4, 10) had a goal and three assists in a 6-1 win over Team USA on Nov. 25 ... During Omaha’s most recent win, last Saturday’s 5-3 win at Des Moines, Jack Randl (6, 5) scored two goals ... Goaltender Zach Driscoll (5-3) ranks second in the USHL with three shutouts and fourth with a 2.10 GAA ... Omaha is 5-2-1 against Eastern Conference teams and is 4-5 versus the Western Conference.
