This is the first of three times that the Musketeers will host one team on consecutive nights this season, as Green Bay will visit the Tyson Events Center on Feb. 2-3 while Youngstown will skate on Feb. 9-10 ... The newest Musketeer is forward Spencer DenBeste, a 6-foot forward who came in a trade from Cedar Rapids, where he played four games but didn’t register a point ... Cedar Rapids will get the Musketeers’ 11th-round pick in the 2018 USHL Phase II Draft ... An 18-year old native of Marquette, Mich., DenBeste scored 57 points (27 goals, 30 assists) of the Soo Indians 18U AAA team last year and also played a combined 14 games for the North American Hockey League’s Kenai River Brown Bears and Springfield Jr. Blues, where he racked up eight points on three goals and five assists ... Coach Luke Strand’s Musketeers will try to avenge a 3-2 loss to Central Illinois which occurred Dec. 1 at Bloomington, Ill., a game where Sioux City took a 2-1 second-period lead on a power play goal from Cole Koepke (6 goals, 1 assist) ... Team captain Brady Ferner (1, 3) tied the game 1-1 with a first-period power play goal ... Koepke has three goals against Eastern Conference opponents ... Musketeers scoring leader Sampo Ranta (8, 4) has a team-best four home goals this season, one more than Koepke ... Micah Miller (6, 4) has provided six goals and one assist while scoring in five of his last seven games.

CENTRAL ILLINOIS NOTES

Tyler Madden (6 goals, 8 assists) and Max Andreev (3, 8) scored third-period goals as the Flying Aces improved their record against Western Conference teams with the come-from-behind win over Sioux City ... Team scoring leader Jakub Lacka (9, 7) has three goals and one assist against the Western Conference ... Madden was traded earlier this week to Tri-City and Central Illinois received Michael Maloney (4 goals, 1 assist) and Caleb Rule (1, 1) ... Defenseman Simon Butala (2, 3) began the first of his four seasons by playing for the Musketeers in 2014-15, then played two games for Cedar Rapids in 2015-16, then had three assists for the Bloomington Thunder last season ... Both goaltenders, Kris Carlson and Zach Stejskal, have 4-5 records.
