Coach Luke Strand’s Musketeers, currently tied with red-hot Lincoln (5-0-1 in last six games) for sixth in the Western Conference at 48 points, are 3-1-1 this season against fourth-place Sioux Falls … Cole Koepke (21 goals, 6 assists) has three goals and an assist against the Stampede, highlighted by an overtime goal in a 2-1 win at the Denny Sanford Premier Center on Nov. 10 … Micah Miller (17, 9) has two goals versus the Stampede, not including the shootout goal he recorded for a 2-1 win on Oct. 14 at the Tyson Events Center … Miller has provided five goals and two assists while scoring in seven of his last eight games … Sampo Ranta (18, 9) is on his third three-game scoring streak of the season, which included an assist on Miller’s first-period goal in Sunday’s 3-2 shootout win at the Tyson over Tri-City … Ranta moved into a tie for second in the USHL when he tallied his third shootout goal of the season, a shot that gave goaltender Matt Jurusik (19-15-4, 2.61 GAA) his league-leading sixth shootout win … Jurusik also ranks first in the USHL with 1,156 saves and is second in both wins and minutes (2,227) … Defenseman Nate Knoepke (11 assists) has three straight 1-assist games … Fellow blue-liner Nate Clurman has four assists in six games as a Musketeer and has a combined 10 points (1, 9) while also playing for Tri-City and Des Moines … The Musketeers will be without leading scorer Martin Pospisil (7, 22), who will miss the next four games, serving a two-game suspension for charging and another two-game suspension for being an instigator, both infractions occurring in Sunday’s win over Tri-City.


Sioux Falls is on home ice after going 3-2 on a five-game road trip that concluded with last Saturday’s 4-2 loss at Chicago … The Stampede are 11-6-6 at the Denny Sanford Premier Center and lead the USHL in home attendance (148,733), averaging 6,467 fans per game … Kirill Panyukov (12 goals, 11 assists) and Antti Virtanen (2, 4) have each scored two goals in the series against the Musketeers this season … Adam Dawe (22, 12) and Artem Ivanyuzhenkov (13, 10) have each tallied eight power-play goals for Sioux Falls, which has the league’s second-best power play at 22.7 percent … Team scoring leader Nolan Walker (15, 22) has six power play goals and 10 power-play assists while defenseman Colin Swoyer (2, 24) has a goal and 12 assists on the man advantage … Meanwhile, the league’s fourth-leading defenseman scorer, Jack St. Ivany (5, 25) has three goals and 10 assists on the power play … Sioux Falls also has the USHL’s fifth-ranked penalty kill (84.4 percent).
