KEARNEY, Neb. -- Brad Robbins' first goal in six games couldn't have come at a better time.
Robbins scored 69 seconds into overtime, giving the Sioux City Musketeers a 3-2 overtime win over Tri-City in United States Hockey League action Saturday night at the Viaero Events Center.
Brett Patterson assisted on the winning goal for Sioux City (28-29-1), which won for the eighth time in its last 10 games. On a night where Kyle Criscuolo extended his scoring streak to six games with two second-period assists, Robbins' team-leading 25th goal of the season gave rookie goaltender Austin Priebe (4-7) his first win since Feb. 21.
Priebe was playing for the first time since Feb. 24, when he dropped a 6-3 decision at Des Moines. The rookie from Wausau, Wis., who will likely see more playing time next week in order to give Matt Skoff (24-22-1) adequate rest heading into the playoffs, stopped 18 straight shots before yielding a goal by Tim Bonner with 6:50 left in the third.
Robbins, the Musketeers' scoring leader with 49 points, has provided four goals and three goals in the surge that has carried Sioux City into the playoffs for the second straight year. The Bemidji State recruit hadn't scored a red-lighter since March 24 when Coach Brett Larson's squad were 6-3 winners at Lincoln.
Criscuolo holds the team's longest current scoring streak. The assists on goals from Maxim Gaudreault and Alexander Kuqali came 35 seconds apart and turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead.
Tri-City (25-32-1) had been 3-0 in shootouts and 1-0 in overtime before this contest. Losing goaltender Adam Wilcox (23-19-1) was netminding his 19th straight game since the Storm dealt Pheonix Copley to Des Moines on Feb. 6.
Sioux City is idle until Friday when it plays at Sioux Falls.
