SIOUX CITY | Waterloo's Garrett Wait scored his second goal of the night 59 seconds into overtime to give Waterloo a 3-2 United States Hockey League win over Sioux City at the Tyson Events Center Friday.
Wait entered the game with one goal but got a go-ahead score in the third period before netting the game-winner.
Waterloo got the jump on the Musketeers on Bobby Trivigno's second goal of the season 4:16 into the game Center Hayden Rowan got his second goal of the season and the first since the season-opener to tie things up for the Musketeers at 5:02 of the second. The Yale signee was assisted by Solag Bakich and Randy Hernandez as Sioux City had a 10-5 edge in shots during the middle period.
Wait put the Black Hawks back up by a goal at 4:29 of the third but the lead didn't last long. The Hernandez-Rowan-Bakich line got the next Sioux City goal and tied the score at 2-2 when Hernandez answered just 1:13 after Wait's first score.
Sioux City (2-4-2) is back in action at the Tyson Events Center tonight hosting Lincoln.
