AKRON, Iowa -- Catching catfish will be the subject of a seminar Feb. 22 by one of the county’s premier catfish anglers.

Brad Durick, full-time catfish guide on North Dakota’s Red River, will be headlining the event at 7 p.m., at the Akron Fire Station building. The seminar is free.

Topics include seasonal patterning, metabolism and how it pertains to channel cats, and new information on the ever-changing technology in fishing. Durick will also address how anglers can build maps with modern depth finder technology in uncharted catfish waters.

The event is sponsored by the Big Sioux Cat Anglers Club.
