SIOUX CITY | Dordt rallied to score single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to down Northwestern 2-1 at the GPAC Softball Tournament Morningside Bracket on Friday.

Northwestern outhit the Defenders 9-5 but left 10 runners on base.

Dordt's Tianna Top threw seven innings of nine-hit ball with four strikeouts and no walks.

The Red Raiders struck first as Jensen Boger singled to center to score Mons Figueroa in the first inning.

Northwestern pitcher Kayla Tindall allowed just five hits, one walk and struck out six in six innings. However, Michal Huizenga got the Defenders on the board in the fourth with a solo home run, and Marisa VanDenBerg doubled to lead off the fifth for Dordt and scored on a groundout.

DOANE 6, NORTHWESTERN 0: Doane's Hannah Feagler threw a one-hitter in an elimination game victory over the Red Raiders.

Northwestern was held without a hit until the fifth inning when Jensen Boger led off with a single to right field.

Doane had three runs in the third inning and 11 hits in the game. Nicole Fernandez led the way with three hits.

Northwestern concludes its season with a 23-24 record.

WARTBURG 4, BVU 3: Wartburg scored four runs in the first two innings and held on for a 4-3 victory over Buena Vista at the Iowa Conference Tournament in Decorah Friday.

BVU's Moriah Guyett gave up eight hits in six innings, two earned runs. She struck out two and walked one.

Buena vista was led by Keely Bycroft's two hits as the Beavers managed just six in the game.

Buena Vista concluded its season with a 20-17 mark.
