CHICKASHA, Okla. -- No. 25 Science & Arts Of Oklahoma swept No. 15 Morningside in doubleheader action here Monday.
Morningside dropped the first game 8-2 as they were held to three hits by Oklahoma's Emily Cerny. Cerny went all seven innings, walked three and struck out 11.
Mackenzie Lose and Jyden Wood scored runs for Morningside.
Oklahoma, which had 10 hits off three Morningside pitcher, including Andrea Medinger who took the loss, was led by Chloe Clifton's three hits and two runs scored.
Oklahoma won game two 7-2 as Jordan Detherage gave up seven hits to the Mustangs, walked three and struck out one.
Morningside pitcher Hallie Misiaszek allowed 11 hits, six earned runs, walked one and struck out one.
WAYNE SPLITS TWO: The Wayne State softball team split a pair of games here Monday winning 4-2 over Notre Dame (Ohio) in its first contest.
The Wildcats scored two runs in the first inning as Katelyn Wobken scored on a wild pitch and Emily Chandler scored on a single by Rachel Schumaker.
Notre Dame tied the game in the top of the second, but Jordyn Breitbarth homered in the bottom of the inning to give the Wildcats the lead for good. Wayne State added an insurance run in the fifth inning.
Maddie Moser picked up her first win of the season going the distance. She allowed four hits, struck out three and walked three.
Wayne State fell to Southern Indiana 9-4 in the second game as the Wildcats were tagged for 15 hits. Wobken, Chandler and Ashley Hernandez all had two hits apiece for the Wildcats.
Wayne State is now 3-6 on the season.
MALONE COLLEGE 4, BRIAR CLIFF 2: Malone College scored two runs in the fifth and two in the eighth to down Briar Cliff in South Carolina on Monday.
Rachele Heaton had three of Brair Cliff's hits and scored a run. Codie Fineran and Brooke French both drove in runs for the Chargers.
Malone was led by Bailey Byers who had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in three.
CARDINAL STRITCH 7, BRIAR CLIFF 4: The Chargers gave up four runs in the first inning and could not recover on Monday.
Briar Cliff had seven hits in the game led by Codie Fineran's two.
Cardinal Stritch was led by Paige Kitzig who had two hits and drove in four.
The Chargers are now 1-7.
