TUCSON, Ariz. | Dordt College's softball team split a pair of games against Jamestown and Robert Morris here Wednesday.

Jamestown won the first game 8-6. Allie McCain went 3-for-3 from the plate with four RBIs. Tifani Schorzman hit a two-run homer and Emma Keller drove in a pair of runs.

Rachel Evavold went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and three total RBIs for Dordt. Marissa VandenBerg went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. Corinne May went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Hailey Heeringa drove in one run.

Dordt (8-7) defeated Robert Morris 8-5 in the second game with Evavold earning the win. Evavold pitched six innigns and allowed 10 hits, five runs, one walk and struck out three batters. She also drove in one run as a batter.

VandenBerg went 2-for-5 with a two-run double. Jessica Oules went 4-for-5 and drove in a pair of runs. Summer Jansen went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Ashley Williams went 2-for-4 and Carley DeRoin tripled.

Megan Ricketts went 2-for-4 with a solo homer for Robert Morris (3-4).

WAYNE STATE 6-1, TRUMAN STATE 5-9: The Wayne State softball team spilt a pair of games with Truman State in a nonconference doubleheader on Wednesday in Kirksville, Mo.

Wayne State won the first game 6-5 thanks in part to Annie Grammer’s three-run homer in the second inning. Katelyn Wobken went 2-for-4 from the plate with a double and Abbie Hix went 2-for-3.

Winning pitcher Riley Vanderveen allowed seven hits, five runs, five walks and struck out four batters to earn the win for Wayne State.

Christa Reisinger hit a three-run homer for the Bulldogs.

Truman State (7-5) won the second game 9-1 in five innings with Nicolette Simpson earning the win. Simpson pitched all five innings and allowed four hits, one run, one walk and struck out three batters.

Jordyn Breitbarth drove in the lone run for Wayne State (6-9). Hix doubled.

VALLEY CITY STATE 4, DORDT 3: Kadie Anderson drove in two runs as the Valley City State softball team defeated Dordt 4-3 in Tucson, Ariz..

Natalie Vos pitched a complete game and allowed 11 hits, two earned runs, no walks and struck out six in a losing effort for Dordt (7-4). Rachel Evavold had a pair of RBIs for the Defenders and Hailey Heeringa drove in one run.
