Weather forces schedule adjustments
Wayne State head baseball coach Alex Koch announced changes have been made to this weekend’s Augustana at Wayne State four-game NSIC baseball series. Games have been moved up one day and will now be played Friday and Saturday. Friday’s games have been moved to Ronken Field in Sioux Falls with predicted rain in Nebraska and will be played at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. with Saturday’s games still scheduled in Wayne with game times at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Pete Chapman Baseball Complex.
Wayne State head softball coach Shelli Manson announced this weekend’s home softball games against St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth have been moved up one day due to predicted bad weather on Sunday. The Wildcats will now face St. Cloud State on Friday and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and host Minnesota Duluth on Saturday for Senior Day with games set for noon and 2 p.m.
The Summit League softball series between South Dakota and Fort Wayne has been rescheduled for a single game at 4 p.m. Friday followed by a doubleheader at 11 a.m. Saturday. The schedule adjustment was made due to rain in the forecast.
The Coyotes will honor three seniors in pitcher Rachel Cue, infielder Shelby Keil and infielder Kayla Fields following the second game on Saturday.
USHL Draft Monday, Tuesday
SIOUX CITY | The Sioux City Musketeers are among 16 United States Hockey League teams which will participate in the league’s Phase I and Phase II drafts, which will take place, respectively, on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
During Phase I of the draft, which begins at 6 p.m. Monday, member clubs select 2001 birth year players over the course of 10 rounds. Phase II will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday where teams can select any player born between the years of 1997 and 2001 until each team has 45 players on the roster.
