RUSTON, La. | Dustie Durham went 2-for-3 and pitched a complete game while leading South Dakota’s softball team to a 5-4 win over Massachusettes-Lowell Sunday in the final game of the Louisiana Tech Invitational.
Durham (3-4) gave the Coyotes their final two wins at Ruston. She went 2-1 at the event with 14 strikeouts in 14 innings. Pitching a 1-2-3 seventh inning to close Sunday’s win, she allowed eight hits and walked two while striking out five.
Camille Fowler was 3-for-4 and scored two runs for South Dakota (3-13). Emily Winckler’s 2-for-3 slate included a two-run home run in the second inning, her second in as many days and her sixth of the season.
South Dakota will open play in the Grand Canyon tournament Friday, facing UNLV in its first game.
