WAYNE, Neb. -- Make it nine straight weeks for Wayne State College senior thrower Michaela Dendinger being named the NSIC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week dating back to last season. Dendinger was named NSIC Outdoor Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for the third straight time this season following her performance in last Thursday’s UNK Invite in Kearney.
Dendinger won the discus with an automatic NCAA qualifying mark of 175 feet and was first in the shot put (49-10) while placing second in the hammer throw at 201-10”.
She has the top throw this season in NCAA Division II in the hammer throw (205-10), ranks second in the shot put (51-11.75) and is fourth nationally in the discus at 175-0. The marks in each event are all NCAA automatic qualifying marks.
