CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa | Buena Vista logged its first-ever Iowa Conference tournament win over Luther and advanced to the finals of the event in the process with a 25-23, 25-23, 26-24 win Friday at the U.S. Cellular Center.

The Beavers got a match-high 23 kills from senior Jade Schaap, who went over 1,900 kills for her career. Schaap, who prepped at Hull Western Christian, set the school record for kills in a three-set match to go with her career mark for kills.

The win avenged a 3-1 loss to the Norse on Sept. 30 in an IIAC league match, the Beavers' last loss before starting their current 12-match win streak. Freshman setter Mackenzie Gropel had 42 assists while Summer Goss and Jamie Navinsky had 19 and 17 digs, respectively.

Now 22-9 overall, the Beavers will take on Wartburg, a 3-set semifinal winner over Dubuque in the IIAC final Saturday.

WAYNE STATE 3, BEMIDJI STATE 0: The No. 22 (D-II) Wayne State volleyball team swept Bemidji State 25-18, 25-15, 25-9 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match on Friday in Bemidji, Minn.

Katie Stephens finished with 10 kills and 15 digs for Wayne State (17-10, 10-7). Jaci Brahmer recorded 11 kills. Megan Gebhardt dished out 29 assists and Haley Kauth notched 10 digs.

Anna Averkamp logged nine kills and six digs for Bemidji State (3-23, 0-17).

AUGUSTANA 3, MINNESOTA CROOKSTON 0: The No. 16 (D-II) Augustana volleyball team swept Minnesota Crookston 25-13, 25-14, 25-16 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match on Friday in Crookston, Minn.

Lauren Waite, a Sergeant Bluff-Luton alum, finished with 11 kills and two digs for Augustana (19-8, 10-7). Courtney Place recorded 11 kills and 13 digs while Payton Rosendahl had 11 kills. Alex Banker dished out 52 assists and added 19 digs. Tahlyr Banks notched 20 digs and Kaylea Ahrens tallied 12 digs.

Maggie Perrel registered seven kills and 13 digs for Crookston (7-18, 4-13).

SOUTH DAKOTA 3, OMAHA 2: The South Dakota volleyball team defeated Omaha 23-25, 27-25, 26-24, 20-25, 15-9 in a Summit League match on Friday in Vermillion, S.D.

Hayley Dotseth finished with 22 kills and 17 digs for USD (15-8, 9-2). Kristin Susak recorded 10 kills and 24 digs. Taylor Wilson notched 11 kills. Brittany Jessen dished out 49 assists. Anne Rasmussen tallied 38 kills and Mehana Fonseca added 17.

Abby Bergsten logged 18 kills for Omaha (9-15, 6-5) and Anna Blaschko registered 17.
