SIOUX CITY | Peyton Schirman recorded 16 kills and seven digs while leading the third-ranked Briar Cliff men's volleyball team to a 25-19, 25-21, 21-25, 25-18 American Midwest Conference road win over Morningside Wednesday night.
Ivan Trifunovic added 15 kills and nine digs for Briar Cliff (12-2), which posted its fourth consecutive victory. Trifunovic has a team-high 170 kills this season, one more than the son of BCU head coach Trevor Schirman.
Enrique Barajas dished out 27 assists and Jacob Ewart had 20 for the Chargers, who have won three straight matches in the series against the Mustangs. Noah Marasco-Ayau recorded 18 digs.
Oscar Alvarez Cancel led Morningside (8-14) with 18 kills and Jackson Presha added 10.
Caden Toben dished out 35 assists and added 10 digs. Jacob Loberg notched 11 digs and Brett Kies added 10.
Morningside is idle until March 23 when it hosts Park. That same date, Briar Cliff will play at Ottawa.
