STORM LAKE, Iowa | The third-seeded Buena Vista volleyball team swept sixth-seeded Nebraska Wesleyan 26-24, 25-18, 28-26 in the quarterfinals of the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament here Tuesday.

Jade Schaap recorded 16 kills for Buena Vista (21-9). Jamie Navinskey finished with 11 kills and 10 digs while Ali Grein added 11 kills. Mackenzie Gropel dished out 41 assists and had nine digs, Summer Gross notched 20 digs and Kylie Roe tallied 14.

Hannah Bellinghausen registered 11 kills for Nebraska Wesleyan (11-17).

Buena Vista, winner of 11-straight matches, plays No. 2 seed Luther on Friday at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at 4 p.m.

WAYNE STATE 3, AUGUSTANA 1:  No. 22 Wayne State used 16 kills from senior Erin Gross along with double-doubles from sophomore Katie Stephens and freshman Alyssa Ballenger to lead the Wildcats in a 25-17, 18-25, 25-23 and 25-18 Northern Sun Conference volleyball win at No. 16 Augustana Tuesday in Sioux Falls.

Gross led a balanced Wildcat attack at the net with 16 kills followed by Stephens with her fourth straight double-double on 16 kills and 18 digs. Ballenger had 10 kills and 10 digs.

Junior setter Megan Gebhardt handed out 45 set assists and had two of Wayne State’s four service aces.

The Wildcats move into a tie with the Vikings for seventh place in the NSIC with 9-7 league marks. WSC is now 16-10 overall.

DORDT 3, MOUNT MARTY 0: No. 5 Dordt swept Mount Marty 25-14, 25-16, 25-17 in Yankton, South Dakota on Tuesday.

Emma Altena led the way with 15 kills and Julia Lindbergh added 10. Jamie Gesink had 34 assists and Summer Jansen had 13 digs.

Mount Marty was led by Laura Cattle's 10 kills.

Dordt is now 26-5 overall and 13-2 in the GPAC while Mount Marty is 8-18 and 1-14.

NORTHWESTERN 3, BRIAR CLIFF 0: The fourth-ranked (NAIA) Northwestern volleyball team swept Briar Cliff 27-25, 25-20, 25-22 in a Great Plains Athletic Conference match.

Lauryn Hilger recorded 13 kills for Northwestern (27-3, 14-2). A.J. Horstman and Anna Kiel both tallied 11 kills. Lacey Wacker dished out 40 assists and added nine digs. Makenzie Fink also logged nine digs.

Toni Beck registered nine kills for Briar Cliff (18-8, 8-8), Delaney Meyer dished out 14 assists and Laura Barry added 13. Brooklyn Tolliver notched nine digs.
