OTTAWA, Kan. | Briar Cliff held on to beat fourth-ranked Ottawa (Kan.) in five hard-fought sets Friday night. The Chargers earned the win 20-25, 25-22, 26-24, 21-25, 18-16.

It was the first win over a ranked opponent in program history.

Briar Cliff was led by Ivan Trifunovic's 22 kills and Peyton Schirman added 17. Jacob Ewart had 29 assists and Enrique Barajas dished out 23. Noah Marasco-Ayau had 13 digs.

Ottawa got 19 kills from Daniel Jacobs and 16 from Brandon Oswald.

Briar Cliff is now 2-0 as it prepares to face No. 3 Park on Saturday. Ottawa is now 3-3.

PARK 3, MORNINGSIDE 0: Third-ranked Park University swept Morningside 25-14, 25-21, 26-24 in Parkville, Missouri Friday.

Morningside was led by Jacob Brand's eight kills and Oscar Alvarez Cancel added six. Caden Toben had 24 assists while Jacob Loberg had nine digs.

Park was paced by Mario Lucas who had 16 kills.

Morningside is now 3-3 overall and Park is 3-2.
