SIOUX CITY | Third-ranked Briar Cliff improved to 6-1 on the season with a convincing three-set sweep of Morningside 25-15, 25-22, 25-17 at the Newman Flanagan Center on Tuesday.
The Chargers had an attack percentage of .360 while the Mustangs struggled at .196.
Briar Cliff was led by Ivan Trifunovic's 18 kills and Peyton Schirman added 14. Enriqe Barajas had 25 assists and Jacob Ewart dished out 19 and came up with a team-high 14 digs.
The Mustangs (3-6) were led by Oscar Alvarez Cancel's 14 kills and Caden Toben had 29 assists.
Briar Cliff took two of the three meetings between the two teams last year.
