SIOUX CITY — If you were dreaming of a “White Christmas,” the forecast from the National Weather Service indicates that you should keep dreaming.
Meteorologist Alex Ferguson of the NWS Sioux Falls office said Sunday that other than the current half-inch or so of snow on the ground, Siouxlanders shouldn’t expect any more of the powdery precipitation Monday.
“We are going to miss out on that, unfortunately,” he said.
He noted there was light snowfall in parts of the region early Sunday morning but doesn’t expect anymore to arrive.
“In terms of a ‘White Christmas’ as in snow falling on Christmas, I don’t see that for Siouxland,” Ferguson said.
While there won’t be any additional snow falling, it should still make for an improvement over last year’s wet and windy Christmas.
