SIOUX CITY | Little relief from recent hot and humid weather conditions appears to be on the way until this weekend.

After a high temperature of 95 degrees Monday, today will feel downright cool at 90 degrees, but it still will be humid, said Mike Fuhs, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls.

The rest of the week calls for high temperatures ranging from 93-96 degrees with high humidity through Friday.

A cold front moving through the area could lead to some much-needed rain in the area this afternoon and evening. Fuhs said Sioux City has a 40-50 percent chance of receiving rain, but areas to the east have better chances.

There is a slight chance for rain each night this week, but don't get your hopes up.

"The chances of rain are pretty small," Fuhs said.

Extended forecasts call for humidity to decrease beginning Saturday and high temperatures dropping into the mid to upper 80s beginning Sunday and into early next week.
