SIOUX CITY | Siouxlanders are in for humidity, warm temperatures, cool temperatures and possibly heavy rain through the rest of the week.
Tuesday brings warm and humid conditions, with a high forecast at 83 degrees.
An upper-level wave moving through the area Tuesday night brings a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms, then a drop in humidity levels and temperatures on Wednesday, with a beautiful sunny day and high of 76 degrees forecast.
Warmer temperatures return on Thursday and Friday, with highs expected in the upper 80s. Humidity levels also will rise, said Mike Fuhs, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls.
An unsettled weather pattern moves into Siouxland for the weekend, Fuhs said. Chances of rain increase throughout the day and into the night on Saturday and through Sunday night. Fuhs said Northwest Iowa could see some heavy rainfall during the weekend, especially late Saturday into Sunday.
