1. Look, we made it!
Hopefully y’all were able to snag your tickets to Post Malone as soon as this show was announced to open Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City’s Battery Park Concert Series, because this gig sold out hella fast. Post Malone is already making his name as a true rockstar in the music world with hits like “Congratulations” and “White Iverson.” He’ll be joined alongside 21 Savage and SOB X RBE 7 p.m. Friday (May 4) at Battery Park.
2. Semifinal startup
The end is near for the BAND6k battle of the bands. We’re not entering the semifinal rounds of the competition. Contestants will have to prove themselves and perform their very best if they want a shot at making into the grand finals. Competing this week are the rock bands Calling Grace and Edenforge. See you all there at 8 p.m. Thursday (May 3) at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City.
3. Pocket fulla’ mojo
OK, hats off to the person who thought it would be a good idea to include Ultra Violet Fever and Lil Red & The Medicated Moose Band in the same show. Oh! And Devon Cadwell is opening the gig? What a night! Celebrate the sounds of spring 9 p.m. Friday (May 4) at The Marquee.
4. The Bachelor
Ginuwine is making his way to Siouxland. The multi-platinum R&B artist first saw fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s thanks to consecutive successful albums. He’ll be performing alongside Shae Williams 8 p.m. Saturday (May 5) at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City’s Anthem stage.
5. Comic books! Get your comic books!
It should come as no surprise that Sioux City's own ACME Comics & Collectibles will be taking part in the annual Free Comic Book Day. From noon-4 p.m. Saturday (May 5), visitors at ACME Comics can take their pick of select titles to take home. Riverdale, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Invader Zim, Doctor Who, Pokemon Sun & Moon, Marvel Avengers/Captain America, Infinity Watch/Amazing Spider-Man, The Tick and more are available. Don't forget to say hello to Darth Vader's troops from the 501st Legion.
6. A trip to the market
Oh! May is here? Gee whiz! That means it’s time for the Sioux City Farmers Market. Happening every Wednesday and Saturday until October, the Farmers Market is the best place to find locally grown produce, baked goods and hand-crafted items. You’ll also find a few food trucks! It’s quite a sight. The Sioux City Farmers Market opens 8 a.m. Saturday (May 5) at the Tyson Events Center Suite Parking Lot.
