Authorities chased a bull through downtown Yankton, S.D., on Wednesday after it escaped from a trailer and took the streets.
The Yankton Press & Dakotan reports the bull lead state, federal and local officials on a two-hour chase down the city's main drag -- with detours to area businesses -- before the animal walked into a stock trailer on his own once he was cornered.

The Yankton capture was a far different ending to a police vs. bull incident than on June 13, 2009, when Sioux City police reportedly shot a wayward bull named Macho some 15 times -- a witness told me she thought it shot more times than that -- in Headington Park after he got loose on the city's west side.
Macho was memorialized the following month by a float in Sioux City's Mardi Gras Big Parade. A semi-trailer pulled a two-foot mural of the black Angus bull above the words "We will miss you."
