Billy and Greg Giles, left, grandsons of Albert M. Seff, president of Transit Avenue Center, Inc., turn the first shovels of dirt in groundbreaking ceremonies Sept. 28, 1971, for the W.T. Grant Department Store in Morningside. The brick building will contain 100,000 square feet and will be the first structure in the $2.5 million Grant Plaza Shopping Center on a 15-acre site bounded by Transit and Vine avenues, and S. Linn Street. Completion is expected by late August 1972. Others participating in the event include, from left, H.S. Holtze Sr., contractor; E. Ted Katseres, Councilman Earle N.
