In the 1920s, female journalists were largely relegated to the society pages. With a few stand-out exceptions, they were writing soft news, only dealing with subjects deemed "appropriate" for women. This was not the case with Ruby Westenhaver (later Hintgen), reporter for the Sioux City Journal. Step into Ruby's world and discover the stories written by one of Sioux City's early pioneers for women in journalism. Attendees are invited to bring their lunch to this free presentation.
