WAYNE, Neb. – The Wayne State College Department of Music will host two upcoming events spotlighting student talent in choir, symphonic band and wind ensemble on Feb. 26 and 27.
An Evening of Choirs features the 62-voice Wayne State College Concert Choir, the 24-voice Wayne State College Women’s Choir and the 13-voice Madrigal Singers. The performance will be at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at Ley Theatre.
The Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Feb 27, at Ramsey Theatre.
The Wind Ensemble’s repertoire will include "Folk Dances," based on Russian folk music; "Three Dance Episodes from On the Town," from the musical by Leonard Bernstein; "Molly On The Shore," an Irish Reel dance; "Lola Flores," a Spanish Paso Doble; "Albanian Dance," based on the dance tune Shota; and "Rest," a beautiful hymn-like work.
Both concerts are free and open to the public.
