An open house highlighting the renovations that have been completed on the John Peirce Mansion will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 3 at the historic 2901 Jackson St. mansion.
Built in 1893 by local developer John Peirce, the home was purchased by the Junior League of Sioux City for $10,000 in 1958. It served as the site of the Sioux City Public Museum from 1961 to 2011 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Peirce Mansion Committee is looking for volunteers, anyone with experience restoring historic properties or anyone who has furnishings from the Victorian era.
