Orange City gets grant for January events

ORANGE CITY | The Orange City Arts Council has received a $5,000 Rural Arts Development Grant from the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs.

Grant funds will support Shanren, a music ensemble from SW China, and an urban Latin dance theatre troupe from Los Angeles, Contra Tiempo.

Tickets for Jan. 16 Shanren show are available at the Dove Bookstore, Orange City Arts Council office at city hall, and Northwestern’s music and theatre departments. Tickets for Jan. 31 Contra-Tiempo will be available later this month.

Cost is $10 adult, $7 student. Both shows will be held at the Unity Knight Center, 216 Michigan Ave. S.W.
