More people watched TV and movies via a streaming service subscription last year than ever before. According to the Leichtman Research Group, 7 in 10 U.S. households have a subscription to either Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Hulu which is a 52% increase since 2015.
But not every household pays for their subscription. Providers are trying to crack down on users sharing their passwords. 21% of broadband homes considered canceling their service in the next six months. Streaming services will most likely surpass the 78% of subscribers to traditional TV services.
