SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa | Spirit Lake’s boys basketball team continued a trend Tuesday night.

For the fifth consecutive game, the 10th-ranked (Class 3A) Indians shot better than 50 percent from the field. South Dakota State University verbal commit Owen Coburn scored 25 points in a 70-48 victory.

Coburn, a 6-foot-10 junior, went 9-for-12 from the field. Teammate Mason McCaffrey’s 23 points included 4-for-5 three-point shooting

Alex Van Dyke added 10 points for Spirit Lake (6-2), which shot 64.1 percent (25 of 39) from the field. During the last five games, four which have produced victories, the Indians have shot 56.2 percent.

Hunter Walker led North (1-7) with 18 points.
