COLUMBUS, Neb. -- Taryn Christensen scored 15 points in her first game of the season as top-ranked South Sioux City earned a hard-fought 55-39 road victory over Columbus on Saturday.

Christensen, a junior, missed the Cardinals season-opener against Wayne while recovering from an ankle injury suffered during the volleyball season.

McKenna Sims, who hit for 30 in the win over Wayne, had 14 points, four rebounds, six assists and four steals as South Sioux City moved to 2-0 on the season.
