Cash Show (Zentertain)

Parents need to know that Cash Show is a free-to-play trivia game where players can win real cash. Players share in a prize pool with all other winners, and winnings are transferred to an online PayPal account. Players must use phone numbers to register and are encouraged to earn bonus codes by connecting their Cash Show accounts to Facebook and by inviting friends to download the app. Players must be 17 or older to receive cash winnings and must provide their identity, address, and birth date to do so. Read the app’s privacy policy to find out about the types of information collected and shared.

Cash Show — Win Real Cash! is a live trivia game show that takes place at set times during the week and enables players to win real money. A Show List provides game times (12:30, 5:00, and 6:30 pm on weekdays, more on weekends) and push notifications let players know when games are live. Games consist of twelve multiple-choice questions, some of which are worth cash prizes. Players who miss a question are eliminated: The rest go on to the final round where they have a chance to share in the biggest prize. Prizes are split among all winners, and cash is transferred via PayPal once winnings rise above $10 USD. Leaderboards display weekly and all-time winners.

Another real-time trivia app offers the promise of a big win, and has fewer bugs than others like it. Riding the wave of last year’s popular trivia game HQ Live Trivia Game Show, developer Zentertain’s come up with its own cash-prize trivia app. Cash Show — Win Real Cash! uses the same formula: a video host, timed rounds of trivia, (a few seconds only, to prevent cheaters from Googling the answers) a horrible torrent of lightning-fast comments, and tantalizing cash prizes reduced to pocket change when shared among thousands of players.

That said, the app seems to have less lag and fewer crashes than its less-stable predecessor. Games run smoothly for the most part, and questions are worded better and are more factual and less opinion-based. The interface is simple but effective. Depending on your outlook, the host is either annoying or funny, but the trivia game fun is pumped up by adding in the chance to win cash. Games are short and infrequent, which is good and bad: you don’t spend the whole day playing, but you have to stop what you’re doing multiple times a day to play. The comments are just a waterfall of unreadable noise (not so unreadable though, to hide curse words and obscenities.) Still, even with the spam, the set game times, and the potentially annoying host, there’s plenty of fun to be had winning money while showing off your trivia knowledge.
