Fire at Bolstein Apartments

Firefighters respond to a fire Sunday afternoon at the Bolstein Apartments near 16th and Jackson streets in Sioux City. The fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.

SIOUX CITY | For the second time in less than two months, authorities were investigating a suspicious fire at a vacant apartment in Sioux City.

Firefighters responded about 3:13 p.m. Sunday to the Bolstein Apartments, 1624 Jackson St. The fire was reported extinguished shortly after firefighters arrived on scene.

No injuries were reported. Additional information was not immediately available.

On Oct. 28, firefighters responded to the same building for a fire, which spread to the second and third stories of the building.

The building had been red-tagged by Inspection Services in July 2013. Authorities suspected arson in the October fire.
