MAPLETON, Iowa | Authorities are investigating the death of a woman who was found unresponsive Monday in her Mapleton, Iowa, home.
The Mapleton Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive woman about 10:30 a.m. Monday at her house, 702 Monona St., according to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
Upon arrival, police and paramedics made contact with the woman, Brenda Dailey, 53. She was flown to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City where she later died, the DCI said.
DCI Special Agent Darrell Simmons said investigators do not believe the public is in any danger.

An autopsy was performed Tuesday at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny, Iowa, but those results were not immediately available.
The Monona County Sheriff's Office assisted with the investigation, which remains ongoing.
Mapleton is about 47 miles southeast of Sioux City.
