HINTON, Iowa -- A 27-year-old Le Mars, Iowa, man is dead after his car collided with a semi-trailer Wednesday in Hinton.
Johnathon Learing died Friday night after being flown by helicopter to Mercy Medical Center -- Sioux City with injuries sustained from a collision that occurred at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the corner of Highway 75 and Cedar Street.
Learing was making a left turn in his Toyota Camry when he was hit by a 1998 Volvo semi.
The truck driver, James Joseph Pottebaum, of Hospers, Iowa, was not injured in the accident. The semi was owned by Northwest Express, of Hospers, and appeared to be pulling a load of hogs.
