SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- A half-mile-long bike trail that was constructed to help children get safely to and from school will open Friday.
The Atokad Trail, a joint project between the City of South Sioux City, Dakota County, the Nebraska Department of Roads and Federal Highway, is half a mile long and 10 feet wide. The total cost of the project was $324,600.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at 1520 Atokad Drive.
