SIOUX CITY | Sioux City resident Jim Jung will present an antique badge from the Sioux City Fire Department dating from the 1870s-1880s to Fire Chief Tom EverettĀ on Feb. 28.

The 1 p.m. ceremony will be in the Chief George M. Kellogg Atrium, Fire Station No. 4, at 3109 Dearborn Blvd.

When Jung located the badge, he recognized its historical significance as belonging to Fire Chief George Kellogg early in his career as Sioux City fire chief. Kellogg held the position from 1889 to 1939.

Fire Station No. 4 features several historical artifacts in an atrium dedicated to Kellogg, whose 50-year term made him the city's longest-serving fire chief. Sioux City Fire Rescue did not have a badge from that time period in the collection.
