SIOUX CITY | A stretch of unseasonably warm heat will likely continue through the remainder of the week, but temperatures look set to cool down in time for the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, Wednesday's high will be around 88 degrees, with sunny skies and a southeast wind of 5 to 10 mph. The low will be 62 degrees.
The high temperature could then hit 90 on Thursday. Conditions will be mostly sunny and breezy, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Temperatures will cool to 65 degrees Thursday night, with a 30 percent chance of precipitation into the early morning hours on Friday.
Friday will be partly sunny with a high near 88. A 20 percent chance of precipitation will continue during the day, with chances increasing to 40 percent in the overnight hours. Friday's low will be 66.
Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high of 79 and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Rain chances will continue into Saturday night.
Sunday and Monday will have highs in the low-to-mid 70s.
