ROCK VALLEY, Iowa -- A Minnesota man was killed in a farm accident near Rock Valley Monday.

Around 4:24 p.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident at a farm on 300th Street, four miles west of Rock Valley. Joey Van Ginkel, 17, of Rock Valley was backing up a Volvo payloader, which drove over Bradley Peetsch, 52, of Baxter, Minnesota. Peetsch was walking behind the piece of equipment at the time.

Peetsch was transported by ambulance to Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley. He then was flown to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, where he was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol. The accident remains under investigation.
