North High School homecoming events planned

SIOUX CITY | North High School homecoming activities are planned Monday through Saturday, Oct. 6. The theme is "Stars Assemble."

* Coronation of the homecoming king and queen is 7 p.m. Monday in the high school auditorium, 4200 Cheyenne Blvd.

Queen candidates are Anna Beals, daughter of Robert and Barb Beals; Abby Berenstein, daughter of Craig and Julie Berenstein; Haley Jo Clark, daughter of Joe and Nancy Clark; Kamber Dvorkin, daughter of Robert and Vicky Higgins; Huma Hafeez, daughter of Sabohi Hafeez; Rebecca Holzrichter, daughter of Dan and Vickie Holzrichter; Brooke Longtin, daughter of Joel and Karen Longtin; Mariah May, daughter of Doreen Miera and Juan May; Steph Roan, daughter of Kathy Donaldson and Larry Roan; and Alexa Wolfe, daughter of Chic and Leah Wolfe.

King candidates are Alex Berger, son of Tim and Denise Berger; Zach Berger, son of Bridget Berger; Jose Diaz, son of Jose and Maria Diaz; Austin Dicus, son of Kevin and Chris Dicus; Tyler Drey, son of Alan and Linda Drey; Jake Ferris, son of Jim Ferris; Gage Hays, son of Vicki Dawdy and Brian Hays; Danny Horton, son of Paul and Melanie Horton; Alberto Jurado, son of Alberto and Francisca Jurado; and Blake Meacham, son of Tim and D’Ete Meacham.

* The powder puff football game is at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Leeds Field.

* The homecoming parade is scheduled to begin at 1:40 p.m. Thursday at 31st and Jackson streets. The parade will feature Gary Kroll as the grand marshal, homecoming royalty, cheerleaders, the North High School and Middle School marching bands, Multicultural Club, Best Buds and representatives from Bryant, Clark, Hunt, Irving, and Leeds Elementary schools.

A multicultural food fair, bonfire and pep assembly also are planned.

* The homecoming game against Ankeny High School is at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 at Olsen Stadium.

* The homecoming dance is 8-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Marina Inn Center in South Sioux City.
