SIOUX CITY | The fifth annual Pink in the Rink raised more than $47,000 for breast cancer education and awareness in Siouxland.
That's $7,000 more than last year.
Held during the Sioux City Musketeers’ home game Saturday, the event raises funds for St. Luke’s Imaging and Breast Screening Center and Susan G. Komen for the Cure Siouxland Affiliate.
More than 3,800 Siouxlanders packed the Tyson Events Center for Pink in the Rink. For every ticket sold, $3 was donated.
After the game, more than $19,000 was raised during an auction of pink game jerseys. T-shirts and pink ducks were also sold.
